Making Guitars to Sell

My goal is to sell some guitars this year to lessen the financial burden of building. In past years, my goal has been to generate interest in commissions, where people would come to me with their ideas, and I would bring them to life. I've decided though that this likely isn't the best course of action.

There are lots of guitarists that would love a custom guitar, but very few that will actually pull the trigger on ordering one. Whether that is for financial reasons, they don't know what they want that is different, or not being familiar with the process, there just aren't that many people I've found that actually want to commit to a custom build.

For this reason, my plan for 2024 is to create the guitars that I want to make first, then find buyers for them afterwards. This will allow me to lower prices, express myself as I want to without constraints, and help get my name out there more. I likely will be posting them on Facebook or Kijiji, as I don't really want to deal with the hassle of shipping guitars yet in my career.

For the first of these builds, I have my eyes on some torrified burl maple that I want to use as a top. Not sure on a body shape yet, but it will likely have a maple neck and a wenge fretboard as that's what I currently have in the shop.

If you want to see these guitars, keep an eye on my Instagram as that's where I'll post progress images, as well as final pictures will be here. If you live in Alberta, and want a chance to buy them, I will post on Instagram and Facebook when they are available.

As always, thank you to everyone for the continued support.
